I'm interested in getting a cleaning service for the inside of my home. How do I find a service that I don't have to worry about things getting stolen? Also, do I have to give them a key? What kinds of things do they do?

The cleaning services will do as much or as little as you want done. And you can leave your home unlocked on the day they come and tell them to lock it when they leave. And even though they are bonded and will be responsible there is always a chance of someone stealing, get a company that sends out a crew instead of one person. Good Luck Ty, I would come clean for you for FREE. I'm old but I clean good, bake good pies and I don't steal.

Besides checking with the BBB (which is a great start), also check with Angie's List and Craig's List in your area.

The last two are lists of organizations compiled by people in your area who've as well used the same service.

Check all 3 lists against each other, that should give you a good start.

Good luck.

ps....as for the key part of your question, I don't think you do. Liability insurance being what it is and all.

The best way I know of is to ask your friends who they use. Referrals from someone you know (and trust) are usually the best. I would also contact the local BBB and Chamber of Commerce to make sure the cleaning service was "in good standing" in the community. Also, if your county requires registration/licensure, I would I make sure that the business has complied with the rules in your particular area.

Good luck!

I would definitely start with word of mouth, references of cleaners from your friends.

And get someone who is legal to work in your country. Then if there ARE any problems, it is easier to solve them. Also consider if there is a language barrier for the person you choose, you must be able to communicate with the person.
