I think they wanted their daughter to have a life away from the paparazzi, which is understandable. That's what most people are saying about Suri... Providing there is a baby after all... Could it be a hoax?

He's hiding them since he doesn't want the baby touched by celebrity. Also, he's trying to keep Katie separated from her Catholic family--these weird Scientologists...

Tom is a scientologist , so he probably donated it to science or he ate it with some fahva beans and a nice chiante

tom and katie are scientologist, they are not allowing the baby out, because in the scientologist religion you do not you medication, so the baby must allow its immune system to gain strenght so it does not die due to a cold

i think Tommy boy has poor Katie under some kinda spell that has her thinking she's doherty in the WIZARD OF OZ...she wants to get home but little does she know that TOM is the wizard that she has to go to emerald city to see in order to get home...as for the baby, she takes the place of choo- choo...tom's got her trapped he'd never let her get home...as a result he has to hide both mother and child so that no one would think something was "WRONG"....COULD ONE'S LIFE BE MORE SCREWED???..HaHAHAHAHAH.!!!
