I am having my 4th c-section, and am considering getting my tubes tied, so I won't have any more children. Are there emotional side effects to this? Did you regret having the procedure done, or were you glad you did it? I've talked to the Dr. about this, but I need outside info from personal experiences.

i had a tubal ligation after the birth of my third child.....asked the doctor to go ahead and take care of it while he was finishing up with the c-section......to avoid another surgical procedure....

absolutely no regrets. if there were to be any side effects, which i seriously doubt, they would hardly be noticeable because of the similar side effects of the c-section.

I had them tied after my third child. We knew we didn't want anymore children. I did not have any emotional side effects. Since, you are having a C-section, you probably won't feel any different from the surgery either. I don't regret it at all. I am totally glad I did it! Also, my doc told me that I might have two periods a month from then on. My sister has this, but I don't. I have a normal period once a month with no change. I also have endometriosis, but it hasn't changed that either.

I don't recall having any emotional side effects at all. I was pretty sure that I didn't want any more children, as was my husband. It was a relief not having to worry about birth control any more.

One thing to consider though, is if something happens to your current partner, and down the road you meet someone else who wants children, would you regret it then? I divorced my husband about 2 years after having the procedure, met my current husband a couple years later, and was a bit sad that we couldn't have a child of our own together.

After what you have been through and there being no bad side effects at least for me just think of it this way.... you can do it when ever you want and never worry again. Makes that spark come back in the marriage. You will feel like, oh my, am I still a woman? YES. Enjoy the freedom.

I had my tubes tied over 10 years ago. I haven't had any regrets or problems. It's a very liberating experience not to have to worry about getting pregnant.

I had my tubes tied at the age of 33 years old after my third child. I did not have any regrets, I was ready. Good luck to you. :0)

Its very just about phyiscally impossible. Even a woman together with her tubes tied who has intercourse with a male who did no longer have a vasectomy has an extraordinarily narrow hazard of turning into pregnant. notwithstanding that's attainable. yet a woman and a guy recent technique everlasting beginning administration concepts and transforming into pregnant is very just about out of the question. She has greater of a huge gamble transforming into pregnant with an alien then being pregnant with a toddler. Its like one million in billions of tens of millions.

It won't leave any emotional effects, other than "Gosh, I'm glad that's over with." After 4-C's, I'm sure you're ready.
