Next dream was still looking for houses, but not with Steve (my bf) We were looking at small houses and apartments trying find one my grandma could live in and easily get around using her walker. The thing is, my grandma died over four years ago. Anyway, we were looking at these places, and another weird thing is, they seemed to be places I had had dreams about before. Then I recall calling my brother and asking him to meet me with something I had lost or forgotten or something, I can't remember what it was. I am kind of thinking I had forgotten my car keys or something like that. In my dream I had to wait on him for like four hours, and I was getting annoyed. He finally showed up and gave me whatever it was I needed and some cigarettes. I don't smoke. I used to, but not anymore. Another weird thing is, my brother died over 8 years ago in a motorcycle accident.
Any interpretations?

No, this never happened. My grandma lived in the same house all of my life until she passed, and she never even thought about moving.

d ruxandra: The houses always seemed to be like a bi-level, lots of stairs. And we were always in the kitchen or dining area of these places.
Secondly, no Steve and I just met at the beginning of this year. He knows of them because I talk about them and how I miss them, but they never knew him.

Again.. let me analyze this.
Dead brother, grandma = past relationship
brother showed up and gave cigarettes = show support
This dream is more or less about your boy friend. This time your dead brother is involved because in your mind, you are still searching for someone who can trust. Maybe your brother was the one you trust the most and have protection under? If not, he could be just a projection of your dream to show you that you are in need of a man to help you out.
Again, your boy friend is not really doing anything in the dream as I can see. As far as grandma goes, another past relationship or older figure to show you that you need someone you can depend on. Looking for a new house is just an excuse or task you project in your dream. It is just part of the things you would do in life. However you waited so long for your brother and he showed up gave you some cigarettes. That means a support you are looking for.
Once again, I think this dream is about your bystander boy friend and people you trust and things you are looking for.... protection, trust.
I could be wrong again.. but that is how i see from your dream mone more time

i would interpret the dream like this:
first of all, all important elements in your dream were about past events. your late brother and grandmother, your lost things, your not smoking anymore etc...
the house is a symbol for the greater you (both subconscious, unconscious and conscious) - it is very important to remember what type of house it was - for instance did it have only one floor, had a basement or not, where in the house were you...
but the dream that you had might symbolize a different thing: you were looking for a sollution for your grandma - read: "a past problem". still, the fact that you had your dream, might mean that it is not as "past" as you, consciously, might have thought. So one information that you need to look into is that you have some unresolved issues that still longer from the past.
the fact that you dreamt about those houses before (or at least you thought to have done) means that the sollutions you might see now were available to you looong before, but you did not act to actually do something about it.
the fact that you called your late brother to meet you and give sth you presumably lost before, is another metaphore for the fact that you left something in the past unresoved and you wait for the past to resolve it for you. in the meantime, anything is "past" (your relatives, your cigarettes, the houses etc) but "your issue"
The dream says the same thing in multiple ways, so try and see what is it that you haven't put an end to.
one other question: was Steve you bf while your grandma and brother lived?

VERY random guess but here it is. You weren't looking for a house with Steve because he's a separate part of your life from your family. You were trying to find a house for your Grandma where she'd be comfortable, so maybe that means that you're still trying to find a place for her memory to rest in you comfortably, meaning you don't think about it with regrets and pain but rather with fond memories of her. Your brother who died 8 years ago who was going to bring you your "lost item" represented how you're forgetting him a lot lately, or at least forgetting how much he meant to you. He came with cigarettes as well because he still has something to add to your life, whether it be a lesson or some past advice or maybe just encouragement.

Remembering things which donot exist anymore..like your grandma and your brother (im personally very sorry to hear about them) is a sign of a reflective personality..
Its a sign that maybe you want to put right certian things that are a result of a previous incident...
Or it may just mean to amend things which are not going very well...
The ciggarettes are like a habit and as you say you had left them..but still you see yourself smoking or close to it..refer to the adoption of some previous techniques to rectify a problem that has persisted since long...
8 years since your brother passed away...

Though your grandma and your brother have passed, they will always exist in your heart and your memory. Dreams are a way to remind you these loved ones are still with you. I often dream of loved ones who have passed. The details of the dreams aren't important. The only message or interpretation is that they will always be remembered and loved.

Interpretations? Sure.
Your mind assembled bits and pieces from your past into a random sequence of events.
I think it's fascinating that our minds create these dreams, but the same process is occurring while we are awake. The difference is that when you are awake the "dream" is locked into what your senses are experiencing.
When you are asleep the dream just rambles through your mind ans is created from a bit of this memory, a bit of that memory.
When you are awake the "dream" is based on what your eyes are seeing and your ears are hearing.
There is no need to put much importance on your night time dreams. Most people don't even bother to remember them.
