Well, my PS2 is dusty and dying, and the motor doesm't seem to work any more, but when it was working properly, it played all my PS1 games fine, as it is backwards compatible. My copy of Final Fantasy VII was fine, but the only thing it wouldn't do was read the unofficial PS1 memory card I got from HMV.

Yes but to save PS1 games a PS1 memory card needs to be plugged in.

Works for me!!
You do have to buy a PS1 memory card in order save PS1 games on a PS2. It works with no problems.

YES!! Play station 1 games work in PS2, but PS2 games dont work in a PS1. this is cuz PS2's are better graphics so they can't fit into a regular PS1 whilc PS1's programming is a lot simpler so it still works in a PS2.

Yes you can but don't try that in reverse because PS2 games will not work in a PS1. Good Luck!

yhea. but some features might not work. I tried playing Final Fantasy 7 on playstation2 but it didnt allow me to save the game...so it's pointless...eheheh

yes you can and both should be playable on ps3 when its out
BTW you CAN save ps1 games played using a ps2 you need a ps1 memory card though to do it

yeah but if ur ps2 is old the laser gets weaker and cant read some of the discs with a blue backside.
