Now everytime we turn on the water the sink fills up and takes forever to drain. What product would you use to fix this? Keep in mind we can not afford a plumber.

A wire coat hanger (or stiff wire) and a little skill. Straighten it out... use the hook end to go angling in the drainpipe. It's pretty disgusting, so wear gloves. If that doesn't work...you'll need to get some plumbers putty or Teflon tape or silicone sealant and some channel lock pliers (the ones that look like big dinosaur jaws) and disassemble the drain trap underneath your sink. It's the segment of pipe that looks like a saxophone, and has two large nuts that keep it all together. Loosen the nuts with an empty bucket underneath the pipe to catch any residual drain water in the trap. Then inspect the inside and look for the stopage culprit. If it's not in the trap, then it could be higher up in the remaining pipe under the sink (possibly wedged somewhere up there). After you removed all lost toothpaste caps and diamond rings and any other obstructions, put some sealant on the trap fittings or threads before reassembling the drain trap exactly how you removed it and dry the fitting areas with an old rag. Run some water through it to check for leaks and tada!!! Done.
- If you still have a problem after all that work.... The clog (not the wooden shoe variety, I hope!) is probably further up in the drain pipe system and is going to need another Yahoo answers question to work through that! Good luck!!!

It's easy to unscrew the p trap and get the brush out of the drain. You just need a pair of channel locks and a bucket (to catch any water from your p trap). The brush will either be in the p trap or caught near the works for the drain plug. You may need a screw driver to fish it out if it's by the drain plug.

Just remove the trap and pull out the broken toothbrush! It's easy enough to do and you usually only need a pair of channel lock pliers or a pipe wrench.

Just take the "P"-trap loose under the sink and remove the toothbrush. Simple to do.
