Do people accuse you of being 'just like your mum/dad'? What do you do to make them say it?

It's usually because you can't see yourself, and a good clue is the parent you can't get on with is usually the parent you are most like. I can see my husband in my daughter and she would kill me if she knew I was writing this. Like the time they both snarled at each other and it was like a mirror image. Worse still is when you see your mum or dad looking out at you in the changing room mirror. ARGGHH!

I don't get accused of being like my mum or dad, but I do notice lots of little ways in which I am similar to my mum- I'm a complete worrier and bag of nerves is the main thing, I also have a very similar job- teacher/ nursery nurse, similar interests- read similar books, art, child psych type progs, both morning ppl who like to get up, have a cup of tea, and get on with some jobs before showering and getting dressed. I don;t really mind that I remind myself of her in many ways, but I wish I wasn't so nervous- mostly about other ppl climbing tall ladders etc which I'ld happily do myself, as it does cause me a great deal of trauma at times

My dad was always untidy and my mum would tidy up after him - then he could never find anything and had to ask her whenever he needed anything. Just like my marriage now - scary Mary!

Also I hated walking as a kid but my dad used to take the family on these long walks in the countryside. Now I love walking...

It is in the genes by which we are born, means that of our parents we get the same nature of them ,or likes and dislikes of the, or behaviour of them, and also the part of growing up when we are with them and see and learn form them,it makes u the same.
so up when the times passes, we start the some of the things like our parents do and think ,that makes people tell u r turning jost like ur mom n dad.

No one says im being like my mom or dad, but I can see if in myself. I have the same twisted sense of humor that my mom has and her violent temper, and then I have the kind heartedness and calmness from my dad.

People don't tell me but I tell myself. My mom is asian and all she do is yell and wants to argue all the time. She always thinks she is right and wants things to go her way. I am like that with my boyfriend. I am always yelling and arguing with him and if things don't go my way then I'm out. I try not be like her but it seems like I really don't notice until after the fact. I am trying to work on it because if I don't I know I will not get nowhere in life.
