Very true... kudos for knowing the truth. All too often people take as truth their own personal beliefs and opinions, however false or misled they are. I agree, people should take the time to research something before answering it. My sister, bless her little heart, is all good intentions... but has still gotten pregnant four times... each time assuming her misguided beliefs would keep her from it. She thought you couldn't get pregnant the "first time" but she proved you could. She thought you couldn't get pregnant while breastfeeding, but you can. She thought you can't get pregnant if you pull out... but she did. And baby #4 proves you CAN get pregnant while on the pill. So, super fertility overpowers rumors and her friends, though well meaning, were completely wrong. Gotta love you girl.... but find out the facts FIRST.
Again, I completely agree with you!

I still don't get why so many people come here to ask if they're pregnant. Would anyone here be able to give them a more definite answer than a pregnancy test at home or at the doctor's office? NO.

Why - ask why, if you have the answer.
When in doubt, consult a professional. If its about your own health, it may not be wise to get an answer from someone who isn't qualified in giving an inappropriate answer.

That's why you don't ask serious health questions to Yahoo users. These people are not medical professionals.
