About an hour and a half to two hours built with a Microsoft OS. Sooner if installing Linux. Even sooner if using a canned OS image.

Perhaps a better question would be, "How well could you build a PC?" given these parameters.

Like special ed and rojman said.....couple hours, it will take at least 45 mins just to install a fresh op sys....the rest of these guys are dreamers!

hardware only.. shouldnt take more than a few minutes.
Fastest for me: 3minutes... longest - 3 hours.
including os & prefered software can take a while.
fastest: 2 hours... DELL base system.
normal including getting internet & network - up to a weekendfull.
