its not risky for me.i mean i shaved all of my hair down there but i havent had problem with it.i use conditioner to soften the hair before i shave.have u ask the doctors why u got cyst?i mean whats the reason why u have cyst?did they tell u its because of shaving?if they said yes, then the best solution is not to shave anymore.try waxing as the other answerer said.i feel sorry about u having cysts..

If you are shaving against the hair growth ingrown hairs are a very good possibility. These ingrown hairs can become infected and lead to cysts. Try shaving with the hair or even better, just wax it. Don't worry about feeling self conscious around the waxing professional, you don't have anything they haven't seen before. It may hurt a little but it is better than having razor bumps. If this doesn't work just use a trimmer and shave it as close as you can without using a razor. Hope this helps!

The cysts and the shaving are probably not related. You could simply be prone to cysts. Most are harmless.

Never heard of ingrown hairs leading to cysts. I guess that could be possible, but I'm skeptical. However, being gentle does make a LOT of sense.

Yes it is. Blades not only cut hairs but shaves/ peel some of the skin as well. You just don't notice them visualy but sometimes you will feel like some kind of burn that outer layer of your pubic skin goes with razor blades. Specially when its down there and sometimes you cannot see it properly when you're doing it.

Men do use aftershave lotion on their face after shaving their facial hairs to prevent or help avoid burns.
