plus you talk about money. Your team can spend the same money, so why dont you? Because your fans dont support them enough

You're right. And if it came down to the Tigers and Yankees in the ALCS the Tigers would be intimidated at the Yankee lineup. Jim Leyland has done a great job bringing the Tigers back from the deep six but Joe Torre has done a better job because even with the injuries he's kept the Bombers in the hunter. Now that they are healthy......look out!!!

Why isn't their record as good then? Espically with the money for that payroll? It should be BETTER. Face it the Yankees aren't that great. Hate to burst your bubble, actually I don't, but the Yankees aren't that great. They are just expected to be so people think they are. The Tigers are better, they just needed the right manager in place, and with Leyland they have the right manager.
My team CAN'T spend that money. I am a Pirates fan, kinda sad I know but I grew up near Pittsburgh, and our owner DOESN'T CARE about the team or fans. Yeah my team is ALLOWED to but it isn't going to happen. Even if the team made the money of the Yankees they wouldn't spend as much because our owner. Now if Mark Cuban had bought the team when it was for sale and was spending money like Steinbrenner I bet you wouldn't be as fast to say what a great thing it was. You know someone who had the money and willingness to buy the talent out from under your team. Then you would know how most teams feel.

Oh they are?? Why isn't their record better? Yes, the Yank-mees won 3 of 4 vs. the Tigers.. yet the Tigers have smoked all the teams that have beaten the Yank-mees.. what's your point?
Ask a question that everyone doesn't already know the answer too or something that has some validity.
Look at the stats homeboy.. pitching/hitting.. there's at least 3-4 tigers ranked in the top 20 in every category... they're as real as it gets, and the good news is they play as a team.. something the Yank-mees lost the concept of.. Red Sox will blow the Yanks out of the playoffs anyways.

My Twins CANNOT spend the same money. Were a much smaller market.
With the guys who are injured maybe they can be better. Its too bad though that they can't get there on their own merit and bring guys up from their farm teams. Having to constantly outspend the other teams and buy off their best players doesn't really show anybody anything. Anyone with the Yankee payroll can do that over time. It really just shows how bad they are at developing their own players. Go Twins, they are a fine example of low payroll and player development.

There is a "Detroit Tigers" every year--a team that starts off extremely well, and surprises the heck out of everyone.
But to answer the question, if anyone truly believes that the Tigers are all around better than NYY, they are simply kidding themselves. Wishful thinking.

The Yankees certainly have more experience and are playing very well right now. But don't count those Tigers out.

Nah, I dont think so dude. Look at team ERA...The Tigers are the only team in the majors with a team ERA under 4.00
Yankees can not beat them in a short series.

Yankee$ are only where they are because they buy their teams, Tigers' success is largely put on their rookies and no-name players that have had breakout years.
