I have been trying to remove my lip ring for a day. I was never told how to undo the clasp. It has a small ball on the front, does this have to be twisted? Can anybody give me an idea of how to remove it?

you should really get a pair circlip pliers, they make it really easy to remove the ball from the ring with just a gentle squeeze, also makes it easier to put the ball back in, now that takes some practice if you don't have the pliers. you can get them from most tool shops and have change from a tenner, about the same price of a titanium ring which is more hygenic than the cheaper 240 series surgical steel ones that contain nickel and manganese which are both slightly toxic and sometimes cause allergies. also if you only had it for a day (you didn't say) you are best leaving it to heal before you change or remove it. hope this is enough info for you.

I have worn a similar design of jewellery through my ears. I believe it's called a BCR though I forget what that stands for. The ball is fixed to the ring by pressure from the ring. The ball has two tiny dints one each side that help it to stay in place where the ring meets the ball.

To remove the ring, you need to relieve the pressure on the ball by stretching the ring. You need to pull the ring outwards away from the ball. this is easiest with small pliers placed inside the ring and opened but you can try pulling it apart with your fingers.

I suggest you go to your piercer and ask them to remove it. Make sure you watch the procedure in a mirror so you'll be able to do it yourself. Buy a specialist pair of pliers for the purpose.

If you are taper it you should go to a 14g. You should not bleed because that means you are stretching to fast and can leave scarring. When stretching with a tapper is easier to use some lube something like Vaseline. If you want to go up faster talk with your local piercer and they can take you from a 16g to whatever gage you would like. Tappers are safer to go than the other punch through types that i hear of. Please don't use anything like a magic maker or anything like that because the shavings can get left in your lobe in the healing and leave it looking lets say really bad.

If there is a ball on the front then unscrew the ball.

If it a hoop (BCR - Ball closure ring) then you need to widen the two sides so the ball falls out - the ball would have grooves so the two sides fit in,

If you have a labret - the ball should twist right off. Sometimes they can be kinda hard to get a good hold on so it might take some time.
