If you are in the philipines, perhaps people will view you as less filipino, but if you are in a country where the predominant language is English, then naturally, you would be expected to speak English.

No, it does not make you any less a Filipino, it just makes you more American. If I were to move to your country to live there permanently, wouldn't you expect me to learn YOUR language?
