Yes, it's offensive. He could have expressed himself in any number of other ways. He KNEW you'd be offended (as most women would). That's why he did it. He just "hedged" it with the "would you be offended" part.

There is a female body part that begins with "p"? That seems pretty obscure.
I think a good response would have been to say "What's a p___?"
Assuming he answered that then I would say "So you are saying that the entire me is actually equivalent to just a small part of me?"
But I guess you can see that I'm a philosophical person who likes to argue. LOL!
I love it when somebody tries to "offend" me because I like the challenge of twisting their own statement around their neck and strangling them with it. Mwahahaha!
If you are not into that (and most people aren't) then when someone says "Would it offend you if..." then you can just say, "You have already offended me by saying that you are thinking about offending me. I don't want to hear anything else until you apologize for that."
Of course, you also have to consider the view that it IS "thin-skinned" to be easily offended. A thick-skinned person when insulted can just just laugh and say, "That's your opinion. I don't happen to share it."

In some cultures it is a great compliment and honor to be known as a thin skinned p u s s y. This term comes from a very rare and highly prized breed of domestic cats called Thin Skinned P u s s i e s (thinnus felis domesticus). These cats have an unusual characteristic of very thin skin. Their skin is so thin that you can almost see through it. So, when you part their hair, it is like looking at one of those clear plastic biology models where you can see all the internal organs. Very unusual and very interesting breed of cats who sell for tens of thousands of dollars on average.
You should thank your boss for the compliment!

No. It is crudely given valuable insight. It is time to review your words and actions and have a talk with yourself about whether you get upset and defend yourself even when it is not necessary.
You can start to monitor your own behavior and notice whether you overreact to things people say and do. Try to focus most of your energy on working hard. Then maybe your boss will instead say you're a great guy!

That is an insult and I would not take it. He needs to be professional and not act as though he was in the street somewhere talking to his friend. Having said that I still would be offended if my freind said that to me.

That would depend on the type of relationship you have with your boss.
Personally, if my boss said this to me I wouldn't be offended. I would probably call him an a--hole righ back.
It sounds to me like your boss is telling you that you cannot take criticism - even if he is doing it in a vulgar way.
Maybe try answering
"OK I hear you on that - now can you please not speak to me that way"
