First convert 80% to decimal

80/100 = 0.8

dividing 80 by 100 equals 0.8

1000 X 0.8 = 800

Multiplying 1000 by 0.8 equals 800

The answer is 800

yes 800 is correct. Here is a shortcut to figureing things like that out.

80% is 8 out of 10. 0r 80 out of 100. Or 800 out of a 1000.

Notice the relationship. For every 0 after 10 add one place to your answer.

It also works for non-even percentages.
81% it 8.1 out of 10. Or 81 out of 100. Or 810 out of 1000.
