One of my friend wants to know the names of Universities and colleges which offer online Degree and Diploma courses. But they should be authentic and recognised world-wide. Please advise.

Many traditional universities are now offering classes and degrees online. The only difference is that the online classes offer the convenience that a traditional classroom education does not. It is a buyer beware environment, but many legitimate, accredited schools offer online programs. Some that come to mind include Penn State, Boston University, South University, Argosy University, Art Institutes, etc...

Honestly, I don't know if there are any. The ones that I investigated when I looked around were not recognized by any real authority.

Find someone who works in Human Resources and ask them if there are any. I'm sure they at least know which ones will simply be a waste of time and money.

Even if they say they are "accredited" they may be using a bogus accrediting agency. The US Department of Education has a list of legitimate accrediting agencies. You can go to:

to learn more about diploma mills (bogus schools) and accreditation.

As long as it is "accredited" you should have no problems. That means it's legit. University of Phoenix is a good one.
