Frankly, I am a bit tired of Mel Gibson's crucifixion by the media. When did a drunk's words and actions become nothing, but the truth and alcohol become a "truth serum"? If alcohol is a truth serum, why not just swear on a bottle of 100 proof Southern Comfort, rather than the Holy Bible? Heck, when under the influence of alcohol, strangers have been known to get married! He was driving drunk and that is his crime....not running off at the mouth.

If I only attended movies of actors that I agreed with.....I wouldn't go to the theater very much. Let's just give Mel a public flogging and be done with it!

Freedom of speech....what a foreign concept in this day of PC! Mr. Gibson has the right to say what he pleases....but I don't think Jesus juice is the new truth serum and that he nesessarily spoke what he really believes. Couldn't he have just put his lips in motion, before he put his brain in gear?

Are you insinuating the media censures what we hear and see? Egads!

Some people seem to missunderstand my "tongue in cheek" question, but to those who do....

Do loose lips actually sink careers? The Dixie Chicks are still performing, but did their anti-Bush tirade did hurt them? As far as I know.....they were cold sober when they made their remarks.

Yes...we are only human. We make mistakes and costly decisions. Who among us have not made asses of ourselves at one time or another? Some asses become bigger asses when they are inebriated.

I think he deserves a good spanking. Most celebs get away with drunk driving and crap. But they say one little thing and it's all over the place. I'm getting tired of hearing about it. I agree with you that his only crime is running off at the mouth. I was drunkenly arrested once and I said alot of not nice things that I didn't mean. Punish him for the drunk driving and leave it at that.

I also think the media and others are making too much of this. I think it is a little overflow from the crucifixion movie he made. What he said was bad but not bad enough for them to act the way they are acting.

Dealth penalty - no. The media blows these way out to boost their ratings. Mel Gibson is not the first one to bash Jewish people and wont be the last.

They will rag this to death in the media, if things had been quiet in the middle east you probably would have never heard about his drunken stupor.
