The next leader will most likely follow his policies, especially if it's his brother. I don't see any improvement towards democracy in the near future.

Chavez has so much influence there now - I would see them changing to a style of government similar to Venezuela's. Castro's brother is too old to maintain the status quo since so many people there are ready for change. Of course - since Bush hates Chavez so much - Cuba will probably still be on his s*** list - just like most other countries it seems.

I'm afraid it could become just one more latin American US colony, what we call a Banana's Republic... That would be worse than any dictatorship in Cuba. The bad things would remain under different clothing and the good ones - education, health care a certain kind of joy, yes, would all go down the drain.

bush has already offered if any thing was to happen to castro. that bush would help in any way he can to let this country be a free country..and what ever they want he will stand by them...what ever that would mean to a cuban!
