You can accept less and less everyday because the media is controlled by "big business" entities who concern themselves only with profits, not truth or accuracy.
News outlets today prefer to "report" news releases that are submitted to them. Without any double-checking or dispute, this information is spoon-fed to the public "verbatim" without any regard as to its credibility or purpose.
Fox News isn't "news" at all; it's pure propaganda for the Republican Party with "shouting heads" posing as "news" people and commentators. Rush Limbaugh has been called "America's most dangerous man" because his version of "news" is nothing more than Republican hyperbole. There is no objectivity, no factual documentation, or no regard for truth and accuracy. As long as the toxicity that spews from Rush Limbaugh's drug-infected mouth continues to poison our airwaves, it poisons the minds of gullible, impressionable "ditto heads" who can't think for themselves or form any rational opinion.
"Studies" and "research programs" often are biased to create a favorable opinion for consumer consumption. Millionaire news anchors blab this garbage over the air without a second though about how the grog they dispense might be slanted or just plain lies.
What IF Osama is no more real than Santa Claus? The 'news' media will continue to report the Bush administration's opinion that Osama is part of an 'evil empire' (while refusing to dispute the fact that Bush and his evil compatriots might also be part of the same 'evil empire'). Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, you'll hear reports on all network news feeds that Santa Claus has left the North Pole and is on his way to deliver toys to all good little girls and boys. Same fluff - just different stuff. -RKO-

as the competetion is coming up, every news channel want there TRPs to rise.thats all
so they want to show the news as early as they can.in this rush they do make up bits, like if there was an accident, they will say 100 people died even if only 50 did.so they other channel will say they were 110.
so you tune in to them.you will notice this, that even the news they show on different channels is contradicting many a times.
so just believe some. and then its up to you.
like osama was true but some people say that Bush only made up a plan with osama for the WTC attack, because he needed control over afghanistan.
same is iraq.

I trust very little of what mainstream media projects as "news".
News sources that are arguably more objective in reporting are the independent media sources.
BTW, how many people are aware that President Bush quietly shut down the CIA department responsible for locating Osama Bin Laden?
Best Wishes!

The news companies recently sent out a press release saying that their news didn't actually have to be true. Commercials are presented as news. Companies that pollute pay for studies and control the media. We are all being trained to accept war as a way of life. Weird weather is happening all over the world. No one wants you to know what's really going on. You can't believe much of it. Look for news all over. Try and get foreign papers or visit foreign news sites. Canadian news is still pretty free, check it out.
