Every question here can be answered in a way that complies with the Terms of Service. Forbidding people to promote violence and hatred is not "draconian."
I'm sure that when it comes to very hot-button issues like race, there will be people who are so angry and sensitive that no amount of diplomacy and tact will satisfy them, but aside from the odd case such as that, a well-spoken answer will generally not provoke a report or a banishment.

As a user I want an environment that is friendly tolerant and free of prejudice and hate-mongering. Children use this site and I do not want parents to not allow them on the site because of the stupid and reactionary things a minority oif users say and do, as a genuinely interactive learning experience is available here.
So as far as I am concerned if Yahoo has rules that help keep the site friendly and welcoming and tolerant and free of prejudice, I support them in doing so.
Their aims are laudable. It may perhaps be that their methods of achieving those aims are not so lauadable. SO:
Perhaps you can state what is Draconian about their rules and guidelines in your opinion? You cannot assume we know what you are referring to, you need to tell us.

Absolute rubbish. As long as you make fair comment and your attitude is not racist, there does not appear to be any problem. I have answered many questions on homosexuality and race issues and I have never had an adverse remark made. I think it is high time that 'political correctness' is more evenly balanced in favour of the silent majority. As I say, provided you do not try to stir up race hatred or homophobic attacks by your answers, there is nothing wrong with making personal observations on the subject................

No, I like the rules.
There are no "race issues" unless you are a racist.
Try thinking of human beings as all being the same and you will have fewer problems, not just at Yahoo, but in life as well.

I definitely feel like I have to be careful about what I say so that it doesn't come across in a way that someone would have reason to report it. Sometimes I've held back on what I really wanted to say, esp the more controversial questions.

I'm not sure what you mean by "draconian" but if theyre deleting questions that advocate racial hate and violence, I agree with them. Hate is a poison that should be denied a forum.

Well that's because we have little kiddies on here. Their parents are to stupid and or lazy to get them off the computer and go outside and play, or associate with real human beings. Now I am not a racist. I don't like seeing that sh*t.
