" Ethnic groups:
Greek 98%, other 2%
note: the GREEK GOVERNMENT STATES THERE ARE NO ETHNIC DIVISIONS IN GREECE "

Isnt this racist?

The population quotes do not show that they are racist unless they are actually stopping other races from coming to Greece and hindering other races that do live in Greece.

I think racism is more than numbers my friend. so I would not term the Greeks as racist but as a 'closed society' where diversity was not introduced until the last decade. Why? well, that is a long story but in short, due to various political issues and geographical position of the country.

To term a country as racist, we should talk about one with a large population of people different to the majority that are consistently being discriminated against. what comes to mind.....wild guess??? A, yes indeed the beloved U S of A, no?
Interesting that THEY are the ones pointing the finger (ie. CIA Factbook!).

ps. 'CIA Factbook'....how bloody ironic eh?

No, it is simply that in general, the Greek population is very homogenous. Immigration into Greece has not been anywhere near the levels of other European countries, and the majority of immigrants were Greek coming from Turkey.

The statement is a broad one, which is generally, but not absolutely true. Secondly the statement could be read as meaning "there are no divisions (i.e. conflict) between the different ethnic groups that make up the Greek population."

Why do you think they are Racist? Obviously Greece is full with Greek people and doesn't have immigrants. Who wants to live in Greece? Its beautiful to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.
All of the middle East is too volatile for my taste.
