well i just heard that-the o-zane layer cantains O3,and radicles. if the radicles come it contact with O3 it becomes O2 . So why then pilots,and other baloon riders wear oxygen masks (dont give me any silly answers k !)

because balloon riders and pilots dont go up high enough to be in the ozone, that is located alot further up. they need those because the air up where they are has very little oxygen in it and if they dont have a supply of it they will pass out. also, O3 will kill you if you breath it.

At higher elevations the air just becomes too thin to breathe. There is nothing there so your body will become oxygen starved and you can pass out. Not all balloon riders need oxygen, only those scientific ones that go to extreme altitudes. Get up above 14,000 feet and it becomes a real problem.

Because the atmosphere is too thin for them to breathe, much like being on a mountain top in the Andes or Himalayas.

the higher the altitude , the less oxygen there is to breathe .
