Philipp Lahm (born November 11, 1983 in Munich, Bavaria) is a German footballer who currently plays as a defender for Bayern Munich. He played for Germany at Euro 2004 and is in their squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He is considered one of the best young defenders currently, and is shown by his inclusion in the Mastercard All-Star team.He scored the opening goal of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany against Costa Rica in the 6th minute, cutting inside the area and launching a right foot shot into the top-right corner of the net.

anyone that thinks that soccer isnt a "real" sport is out of their mind. they dont have a championship every year because it would cost way too much to get all the teams together. why do you think they do the olympics every 4 years. with american football or basketball or baseball, the US is the ony country involved, and they have nothing better to do than to do championships. if soccer isnt a real sport (as some answerers say) then why do you think that it is the sport that attracts more that 200 million people every world cup
