it's hard to sit down and force you brain to squeeze up words. you have to have an inspiration, and usually, from the most random things. at least that's what i do. i'd be watching a movie or just hanging out and then something hits me and after a few seconds of contemplating i have words forming in my head. you cant force it out, but whne you do get inspired, you better write it down before you lose it. that way it's real and genuine.

and of course, there's always the classic way of waiting for shxt to happen, and then benefit from it by expressing yourself through writing.

Who cares, if you write lyrics that don't make sense, they are assumed to be some kind of metaphor. Check out R.E.M.'s lyrics, Micheal Stipe couldn't even be bothered learning them, he sang from a lectern in many concerts.

I think, the one thing that separates good lyrics from bad lyrics are those that are pleasing to listen to. They don't have to make any sense but they can be used to paint a picture in the mind.
Literature academics call this imagery.

Rammstein's lyrics, if you translate them, don't actually say anything they just group words together with related meanings.

It's entirely up to you at the end of the day. Do you want to tell a story, or protest about current events? If you like your lyrics, then you will probably find there are people out there who will also like them.

First..identify what style of music your expressing IE..Rock, R'nB..Secondly..who is my target Audience...who am I reaching out to..thridly..is what I'm writing about really authentic and shares something of who I am. You can only write form within your own experience or ideology..otherwise people will quickly see through you!

The structure of Western song writing has traditionally been based on....
Intro..Verse..chorus..verse..chorus..middle...bridge..chorus..outro or variations on that IE..I. V..V..C...V..C..M..C.. O. To write lyrically for song composition, it's good to have this kind of framework to 'hang' your ideas..unless you just want to write poetry set to music..then there are no structures other than the way you set the words to music.

A Rhyming dictionary is useful as is a portable Dictaphone...so many times something amazing goes through your head lyrically..but you forget what it was at the time!!

It's not hard to write a really good lyrics...you just refer to your feelings...try writing a lyric about what happen to you today or a day where you can't forget what happened...like a very memorable day...or how you feel about someone...it's easy to write it when it comes from your heart! thrust me! I've written a lot of lyrics and all of them were good...well...many people say my lyrics were good...maybe becoz i based them on my feelings and experiences...actually for me the best time to write a lyric is when you're broken hearted!!!haha...just try expressing your feelings with lyrics and thrust me! you'll have a masterpeice of yourself!...goodluck! muah!

Write about what you feel and have been through.
Lots of people go through the same situations so you will be able to touch lots of people with your words as they can relate to what your saying!

it takes time to write good lyrics, so just sit there for a while and think about what you will write about. then like open yourself up and they should come easily.

Just write what comes natrually. Anything else is lying to yourself. Really good lyrics and poetry just flows natrually: you can't force it.
