Wow, looks like an interesting question! So many answers in just a few minutes!!!

When I was younger I used to kill spiders, mosquitos and flies. But during puberty I started thinking about stuff and thought it wasn't a right thing to do. I thought "Yes, it's annoying when a mosquito bites me. But it's much more annoying to the mosquito to get taken away his life."

Sometimes I still kill insects in my house, either accidentally or because they're there on the wrong place at the wrong time. But I try to save them as much as possible, by catching them and take them outside. Oh yes, and 1 time we had a mouse plague in the house because we kept rabbits. Initially we tried way to scare them away, but when they started going through our kitchen cupboards we didn't see a better solution then starting to put mousetraps. Still feel bad about it :-(

Wonder if anybody (ut of all these people answering this question) can seriously say NO. Could be a new question on this site :-)

Why, no, of course not. Never. It's nearly impossible even to contemplate the idea. I am as a zephyr that hardly touches anything, a brief moment of local ineffectuality in the universe.

I tell this lie only to supply some relief from the string of 'yups' this question as presented had to elicit. You were looking for thoughtful reflections on those killings we all do, have done, and will do--and you did get a couple. You might have had more, had you asked for it.

A tree, an ant, a roach, a cricket, a kitten (i stepped on it), I mean rather you believe it or not everyone contributes in killing liveing things everyday. Like smoking, driving cars, and burning, that kills the plants, and maybe the animals that lives on the plants. Technically when you kill a tree, you are also killing the life that lives on the tree, like the birds, squirrels, snakes.....

I try not to and even then it happens. Tried saving a hard shelled beetle by taking it out of my office on a sheet of paper. Set it outside behind a fence so someone would not step on it and kill it and lo and behold, a robin swooped down and picked it up for his lunch. Felt so bad but even with the best of plans, things happen by accident.

i was really evil when i was a kid....i dont know why, but i really was...

Once when i was 10 maybe 11, i had more than 32 fire rockets which i stole from my big bro's room. Each rocket had the length of min 1/2 to 2 meter. I saw a show on tv in which they tied a cat on a big fat fire rocket and made the cat fly...it really looked really cool and the cat looked luike he was enjoying it...the ending was they cat landed on safely.

I tied up my neighbours cat named Sweetie on to 15 rockets. It was brutal, and i fired up the rocket...she really did flew but she also bursted like a balloon.....till today i m so ashamed of myself that i killed a cat, a cat i used to play with...all i wanted to see the cat happy flying on the air...the result was she bursted into pieces, spreading upto 2 blocks. My friend Andy got sweetie's head in his pool..it was devastating....

When i told Mrs. Ching Watun, the owner of the cat, she almost fainted 3 times... i still cannot forget that.....sometimes i still dream of it, IT WAS REALLY REALLY BAD....TILL TODAY I M GUILTY...how i wish i have a time machine and stop the incident. I was a kid, a brutal kid who didnt think.

Yes i have killed a living being, and the next time i have to kill a living being i promise to kill myself first.

KIDS PLEASE DONT TRY THIS AT HOME

I once hit a cat that just ran across the road in front of my car. I wasnt driving slow so it was impossible to stop. But i was so shaken for a while after it happened because it literally felt like a split second away from death. I saw that split second happen and it was freaky,I feel soooo bad.

Every second we are killing numerous living beings which are not visible to the naked eye. Living thing which you say are numerous in this universe but we only see those cellular bodies which are big enough, and are visible. Yes, knowingly, I do not remember to have butchered a living creature but have eaten fish and mutton several times in life till date.

All the time - I'm a hunter, but only hunt for food. I kill, deer, rabbits, partridge ect, to put food on the table.

If you eat at KFC, Wendy's, Macdonalds etc, you're killing a living thing too.

Just my 2 cents.
