Did you configure your cam correctly in windows live messenger? Are the drivers for the camera installed before you plugged in the camera?Did the installation complete succesfully? If yes then go to the menu extra of windows live messenger and click on video and audio preferences or something like that..Run through the steps...After that when you reach the step where you have to configure the camera you will see that there is a square box displayed where your video should "broadcast" if it stays black then go to "select the webcam"...etc...Choose the correct webcam and a picture (live) should start broadcasting in the square box..after that click finish and it should work

Huh?
Did you click on the menu "extra" and chose the audio and video setup?Did you complete the microphone setup(if you have one) before proceeding to the last step? The webcam? Are you sure that you installed the drivers correctly?Try testing your webcam again..Is it a new webcam? And what version of windows are you running?XP?

well, check ur webcam's setting, on the webcam, there might be a button to change it into a webcam and a button to take photos etc.
