Dissent, opposition, open debate...they're supposed to be keystones of democracy, aren't they? That's what "makes the states great" apparently........
If you didn't voice your opinion over something you disagreed with because you were scared into believing it would make your nation weaker, that's a form of tyranny isn't it, not democracy.
So if there was no dissent because you were cowed into acceptance, the administration in the states would be like the administration in Nazi Germany, or Musolini's Italy, or the Soviet Union....
short version: dissent is good.

Such dissent makes America morally stronger. I have always believed US is a great nation. All nations have their own bloody pasts, but basically America remains the Land of the Free. Of courtse, a great deal of the population have been brainwashed into brainless zombies, but there are citizens who are still capable of free independent thinking.

The winner, the stronger. When George Bush led the first war with Iraq,Saddam Hussein could resist at that time. But when George W.Bush led another war against Iraq,by this time he won.As one slang have said that (we learn from mistakes). The search of new war technologies makes war scientists smarter. The loss of soldiers of both sides are inevitable, the conclusion is who win?

Ratuional legitimate dissent is what makes the US great and strong. However when narrow minded people who can not justify their belief or postion with rational discussion they resort to name calling and dehumanizing tactics directed towards they dont agree with.

It makes no difference at all, it's just politicians trying to gain votes using the current issues, happens every election time.
We all know, when it comes right down to it we would all arm ourselves the entire country every single citizen and fight to the death to defend the USA and that is where the strengh of the US comes from, the people.

I think it proves our rights to the world. Do you think Iraqi people aren't "unhappy" with the war or scared ****-less into silence? In America we do not measure democracy by our conformists, rather by freedoms we allow our dissidents.
