15,000 French people died in the heatwave a few summers ago. Why is Chirac still in power??? Why didn't the French kick him out for incompetence?

You dummy. Everybody knows that only George W. Bush is responsible for natural disasters. I'm sure it was Bush's fault for the French heat wave, too. Hurricanes and tsunamis are certainly Bush's fault, why not droughts and heatwaves, too?

There is an answer to this one: Heatwaves are natural disasters, like there are in the USA, and government can do nothing about it. My question is: How comes in 2002 French voters prefered a war criminal as their president rather then Le Pen?

although there was a lot of criticism for the French government's handling of the 2003 European Heatwave, there were several factors at work:
- the heat was unprecidented and killed 30,000 across Europe in Europe's worst recorded natural disaster.
- both government ministers and many health staff where on holiday.
- many families were on holiday, leaving elderly relatives on their own, only to find they had died when they returned.

i'm french and living in france. there only a few death due to the heatwave and sure less than 100 peoples.
where did you heard that, on fox news. the same channel who said there was a civil war in france. at this moment i was in paris and nothing happend.
but i'm sur there is more than 15'000 who die in irak. and more in liban due to pression of usa on ONU to not stop israel on liban war.
please don't watch fox news and other bush'channel, read international newspaper and see international channel. tu
