they are not too many but i have around 40 poems with me that i have written on my own.

You don't specify where you want them published. I'm sure there are places on the Net. If you want them to appear in poetry magazines, buy a copy of Poets Market 2006. Read the descriptions of what the magazines are looking for and submit your poems accordingly. Be sure to read the info on the appropriate format (typed double-spaced, SASE etc.) Be prepared for many rejection slips!
