I think you should give him a second chance, by this I mean you should give him the kids and tell him to take care of them while you go on a few dates and enjoy life for a change. Let him realize that it is not easy taking care of two kids, and that you don't have to take this Bull Sh*t...I mean he left you to struggle for 3 years, to be with another woman...why?!? What happend did she stop taking his crap and realize that he is a jerk? Tell him that you are gonna leave the kids with him and find yourself someone who cares about you.

I think if he has not had contact in all this time then he has ruined his chances. He is probably newly single as probably he and the woman at the law firm didnt work out and he is lonely. I tjhink you would like to give him a second chance because of your boys, I did that with my first husband when we split up, as I was wanting my daughter to have a father. I would say you have to lay down the rules right from the beginning. He shouldn't move right back in with you, maybe you should date like you did in the beginning for at least 6 months and see if he really has changed.
All the best

I had a similar situation. I was dumb enough to take him back, even remarried him, It was a huge mistake!
He won't respect you, can't love you. Don't believe a word out of his lying mouth. If he calls, hang up, if he writes throw the letter in the trash unopened. Don't try it for the kids either. It didn't work the first time and won't work now. Find someone who loves you and your kids and forget his sorry ***. You're worth more than what you'll get from him and so are your children.

I am much older than you and had the same type of experience with a guy. (no children were involved) I took him back. After three months I sensed he was straying again, so I abruptly cut off the relationship. It broke my heart (and his) but it was a sort of closure for me and I am glad that it was me who made the final decision. I feel stronger because of it. Took me a full year to get over it, and love myself.
You may have to sugar coat and learn woman to man communication skills. After all they never really tell you all.

If he left you and the twins once chances are he'll do it again. If you take him back your sending him the message that what he did is okay. Was it Okay for him to abandon y'all? I would do some serious thinking about that. As a Mom you have to think of your kids also. If he comes back and leaves again how are the kids going to feel?

If he was a good guy to you till the seperation, give him another chance!!! He nade a mistake last time and has paid for it!! Since he had a comparison, he found that you are the most suited and wants to repair the broken ties!!! Ofcourse, it cannot be repaired that fast and you have to support him whole heartedly to minimize the damage!!
