I am worried that I'll lose all my music off my iPod, if I re-install iTunes onto my computer is there a chance I will lose my music, or is there something I can do about it?

just download it. it will automatically (after you assign it where to pull from) put all your songs from your puter into its 'library'. you will not lose anything on your ipod. you do have the songs on your ipod on your puter right?

Easiest thing to do is rip all your songs in a back CD or DVD in Itunes and than add that to your Itunes library. IF you plug your Ipod into the new computer with Itunes and say yes sync with this computer your songs will be erased. So if you want to upload off your Ipod use manuel syncing so you can use both machines http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t3.html
OR upload the songs from the Ipod into the computer (would recommend not having Itunes installed if it's not already on.
For windows only

1) If Itunes is already installed disk use may need to enabled so you can see the Ipod in my computer. Itunes hides your ipod from windows otherwise.

2) Make sure you can view hidden files. In MY computer go to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders.

3) Windows should see the ipod and your music should be on your ipod in several hidden folders. To be safe I would copy it all to say your desktop.

4) Install Itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and the Ipod updater http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ (if you don't already have it installed)
After that drag the copied folder to Itunes (drag and drop or in Itunes (File>add folder to library)

You may need to authorise your new computer by playing it in the library first.
