best guess here is that it is an artists rendition of the two mixed together. If I had a way to post a pic I would but no luck there.

None of hindu gods. May be it was just the imagination of the artist. Shri Durga is the one who is depicted sittting on the tiger.
Kali wears the necklace of many heads. Lord Shiva has the cobra around the neck.
But i cant remember a single god who wears hat.

U have confused with 2 gods.
Sitting on a tiger - Goddess Durga(with the necklace & 8 hands)
Cobra around the neck - Lord Shiva
No god wears hat!!! Maybe, it was his hair tied up on the head.

Ok... if the image is male - then I'd say Shiva (look for the third eye on the fore head)

If female -- then one of these two Durga (fair skinned) most probably because of the tiger

or Kali (dark skinned with tongue sticking out) can be because of the neck less of heads

It sounds like one of the major Hindu deities. You might want to check out a website that shows pictures of their mythology, and see if you can find a match.

Also, it might be a Tibetian deity. Their religion is similiar to the Hindu, but they have different gods and goddesses. There are also some smaller, indigenous religions in Nepal that you could check out. I can't remember the names, but you can find it on the CIA factfile on the web under "NEPAL...religions."

The Tiger-riding-goddess (in Nepal) is the spirit that inhabits Mt. Everest.

Sorry I can't give you names. I don't think I could spell them!

Well it would definitely be Lord Shiva, if as you say he has a cobra around his neck, or Goddess Durga, but she wont have any cobras around her neck....Both are demi-gods.

The description indicates Durga. One can imagine any thing and make a drawing of them.
