Because most movies show india as a poor nation with starving people riding horses and walking goats to town. Try making a website to help educate people on what sort of country India really is. The average person in the usa isn't educated much about India. Don't get upset with people, it's not too much of their fault if they don't know your country. They have made too many movies portraying India as a very poor nation. One good movie about India could change how millions percieve it.

The top 20 percent of the population has a purchasing power equal to that of Europe. The bottom 40 per cent of 1000 million people are dismally poor by any standards.

The average Indian has MUCH less than the average European or American. SO, India, like my country (South Africa) are considered poor and rightly so. Untill we can provide a decent standard of living for all our people, we will remain poor.

i've been there once, and i guess india's not that bad. i reckon it's the way india's being portrayed to the world by mass media that makes india appear poor. i mean, apart from the taj mahal, hotels, and that pretty indian lady who starred in bride and prejudice, the usual images i see on tv about india nowadays are poverty, malnourished children, and shanties. well, those are realities, but india's not all that.

bolly wood shows in movies tht india is poor. it isnt our fault . you can complain against bolly wood .i heard tht one part of indian are very rich and the other part are very poor.i heard the actors and actresses are the richest, am i right?

they won't b poor for long..a lot of Americans are loosing jobs to India bacause they will do it for a lot cheaper
