Static balancing is putting the weights on the inside bead of the rim. Dynamic balancing is when you use a machine that determines exactly where the rim is off balance and tells you where and how much weight to add. It could be the outside bead, the inside bead or a stick on weight in between those. Hope I have been helpful.

Static balance is old school balancing. There is a stand that pivots on top and has a bubble indicator on top. The wheel is places on the pivot and weights added around the rim to center the bubble. Then the weights are usually split between the front and back side rims to "balance" the tire. It assumes your wheel and tire combination are pretty balanced from front to back to start with.
A dynamic balancer is a machine that spins the tire and then calculates the required weights needed, giving the tech the positions the weights need to be in (both along the rim and if it should be front or back) It is much more accurate in getting a balanced wheel assembly.

First off, the balancing of wheels is done to assure there is no wobble in the wheel while rolling. Static balancing means the wheels are stationary during balancing which is done by adding weights to the wheel where indicated by a bubble, similar to a level. On the other hand, dynamic balancing is done on a machine that spins the wheel to simulate actual driving conditions. Dynamic balancing is more expensive but is far more accurate. I would always choose dynamic balancing over static. Hope this helps.

Dynamic Steel Rims

All wrong. both are different types of balancing. Static and dynamic are two diffent planes of movement that need to be checked. Static is move of a up/down movement. Trailer type wheels will need only this. For cars/trucks dynamic is recommended because it measure balance through a full spectrum of the wheels movement. Up/down/side to side and other angles
