This means smth. like that if anyone is doing a favour for you, but you dont appreciate it because you think that this person was obliged to give it to you.
For example, the boss is giving bonus salary to the worker every month. It is supposed that this bonus should be given only to the best workers. But the worker doesnt want to perform the job responsibilities the rigt way, but wants to get bonus money every month, because he is TAKING IT FOR GRANTED.
Another example, that people in "developed" countries TAKE FOR GRANTED all benefits, as good food, education, travellings, life-conditions and dont think that other people can only dream about all this.

to not notice or give value to something, or to make an assumption that something will always perform in a particular (usually positive) way. e.g.
"He always took his wife for granted, and expected dinner to be on the table when he got home. When she left, he was at a loss."
"We take a lot of things for granted: when we sit on a chair we assume it won't collapse; when we turn on a plug, we take it for granted that the appliance will begin to work."

You believe you know the result so you don't even consider the person.
Ex I took my Dad for granted. I wanted to go fishing and I knew he would watch my kids so I never called. When I showed up at the house he wasn't home.

You take advantage on so many but you have the courage to ignore it. For example, your favor is always been granted but manage to pay no attention to the one who gives the favor like without even saying thank you.

To take for granted means to be "used", for example people/friends/family, just expect that you will do something for them without asking you first.

When something is granted it is given (in the context of this phrase it means it is given freely).
so to take something for granted is to "assume it is given freely"
When somebody says "You take me for granted" it's actually a bastardisation of the term, and generally means, "You assume that [what I do for you/me being here/etc] is given freely".
Not many people use it properly.
I hope that helps.

it means that you don't really appreciate something anymore. It's common place and ordinary. you use it but don't really realize it's value. For example, our generation takes the internet and email for granted...it's almost always been there for us. we don't realize how much easier it makes life because we can't really imagine or remember life without it. it's not special to us anynmore

assume that a person or object will behave in a particular, predictable manner, and don't pay attention to that.
Ex. 'The government took the voters' sentiments for granted.'
