some may answer 'rhodes' blindly but i believe overall, ponting is best at all positions

my vote to rhodes.he is so much athletic, and energatic.
i still remember india's tour of s.africa 97, when he shown one of the best fielding exposure.
not only that matches, but in all matches he was extra-energatic.
Definitely no comparision with him.
but u can't ignore ponting, kaif, yuvraj. They are also gud in this business..
but cricket will always miss jonty rhodes as a pioneer of fielding department.

I think Rhodes is the best fielder. But Ponting is also good. Yuvraj is okay. Kaif is good but he is not getting chance to play many games.

Rhodes was beyond comparison.The standards he set for himself are unmatched.Ponting is a good fielder but not in the same league as Rhodes.In fact I rate another Aussie named Mark Waugh very high.Here is my list of top fielders of the past 10 years:
1.Rhodes
2.Herscelle Gibbs
3.Mark Waugh
4.Ricky Ponting
5.Kaif & Yuvraj (u can't choose between them)
6.Collingwood
7.Andrew Whittall(Zimbabwe)

There is no doubt Rhodes is a briliant fielder .But we cant left Ponting ,he is very quick.If we rate Yuvraj &kaif i think they would be in 6th&7th position.

Without a doubt, it is Rhodes. Beats Pointing, Yuvraj and Kaif by long shots. No one can be like Jonty. He is so accurate and athletic. Guess his hockey background helped him alot. I will always remember how he ran out UL-Haq
