The Planet Venus is not considered the "love house". Planets, signs and houses are not the same thing.
The planet Venus has been determined through research by the ancients to rule love, affection and the need to socialize. Astrology has been studied for 5000 years back to the days of Babylonia.

Actually, you have to look at both Mars and Venus in the birthchart to understand how a person relates to love and romance. The signs and houses that these planets are in will explain how a person relates to these aspects of their life.

From my understanding the house placements become the undertone of the planets and the signs in em. the stronger the house sign and weather it's fixed or not will determine to what degree or if it is feminine or male. I would think a lot of factors go into it. However, I was wondering about this myself so i'm looking forward to seeing what other answers you get.
