Look for other jobs. I know it sounds like a very obvious answer and you may say that running away isn't the option, but sometimes other offices are just soooo much better. For example, if you get a job with a design enginnering company where lots of blokes work in the office, they tend to have a lot less bitching about there too. And because the number of women may be a lot less (and more diluted, e.g. 10 man to every woman) women tend to pull together rather than ***** about. In environments like this, bitchy women do not last that long anyway, so they would look for a job in a company where there are mainly women in the office and the bosses (blokes) are out all day on business.

I dont have a twisted mind, but I do have compassion for that situation. Sometimes the best way to deal with her is to totally ignore her and try to make her think you like her. That way when the right time comes you can embarass her accordingly !

I agree with Wendy. Every time she looks at you give her a big smile and make a point of saying a big good morning to her. If you are really really nice she wont know what to do. It will confuse her.
If that doesnt work tell her every time she makes a mistake and it will make her feel useless but make a point of saying it in front of her little minnions. It will really show her up. If you hear her saying something about you or anyone else tell her in front of her friends that if she has a problem then she should say it to their faces.
Also tell her little followers that its none of your business but you feel they ought to know that she has been slagging them off behind their backs and watch what happens.

Yeah, I wouldn't give her any credibility and laugh out loud at her comments. Say something like, "Oh you are funny!" HOWEVER, if you feel you're going to take action in the future, you need to behave properly, but make a note in your diary of all instances of bullying behaviour and note the names of any witnesses. This would provide evidence if you ever feel you need to take the problem to a manager or Personnel. Good luck!

we had one of those in my old job. The trick is to undermine her power. You can do this by getting in with her 'friends' who are probably only friends with her so they don't get b*tched about and socialising with them, deliberately leaving her out.
Another way is to be disgustingly nice to her, really over the top stuff, she'll crack eventually.
