what the deal with the operating systems on their prepaid phones?
someone here just told me "Vodaphone has it's own software for every single cell phone sold by that company. And their software is still using 16 colors, no matter the fact that contemporary cell phones usually have support for 262.144 colors." is this a bad thing???

The truth is that vodafone don't actually have their own software for all their phones. they just apply a "skin" to the existing software. Not sure what you mean about the 16 colours thing, other than perhaps the vodafone branding is quite minimal.

The skins they apply to the handsets may stop access to certain features and jiggle the order of icons, etc, but no real functionality is lost on "Vodafone software"...it's just a facelift.
