when some US soldiers rape and kill Iraqi teenagers, Americans say: those were only individuals. WHY then does the US destroy Iraq and kill some 300 thousand civilians for the actions of one person.. i.e Saddam Hussein?

This war in Iraq has been a travesty since we invaded under false pretense. Many fine soldiers gave their lives or were injured because our leaders lied. Too many individuals made blood money off this because they were driven by greed and greed alone. The fact that this war wasted so many tax dollars which could have used to make this country better is one of the saddest debacles in this countries history. Let people of other countries solve their leadership problems. What works for us doesn't necessarily work for them. I look at that war every night and wonder what the American people would do if that was our country being destroyed daily. The brave soldiers are just pawns for a bunch of spoiled rich men (kids) who aren't quite as brilliant as they thought they were and don't have the guts to admit it.

It's the core issue that surrounds the controversy of politics: the decisions of the few that ruin or end the lives of the many. Particularly when those who die or have their lives turned upside-down are innocent and don't necessarily support the actions of their government.
I personally think that we should elect our leaders and they take that job knowing that instead of wars and killing civilians, they're put into a boxing ring with the leader of their opposition and fight it out one-on-one. See how they like their power, then...

I will agree with you.One man's action had caused so much damage.If the people of Iraq had cooperated and this will not have happen.Same thing US soldiers did mistake and they are punish for their action .Will the Iraq will do that.
People of Iraq need to decide what they want but they are now killing each other.

Saddam HusInsane is getting nuttier and nuttier. He would have started all hell, if he'd had stayed in power. His people sure don't seem to miss him. They aren't fighting to bring him back, that's for sure.
