Although a serious question as the Vatican could call on all Catholic countries to defend Christians in Lebanon. This does appear to have had he added interest of winding-up a number of you.

Whomever declared war first I would be against. Though America would always back the Vatican. They have no army and Christians are against using suicide bombers to kill innocent woman and children simply to promote there way of extremism. Remember 9/11? If we order a cease fire by the Israeli's, what does that say about our resolve to rid the world of terrorist organizations and countries that support them. After 9/11 Americans Republicans and democrats alike cheered and gave Bush a standing ovation when he said, "Any country that aides ,supports, or harbors terrorist organizations will be considered our enemy.". Hezbollah is the crux of the terrorist problem in the world today. Why are we going to stop Israel from destroying them when Lebanon was forewarned to disarm them 5 years ago. Instead they've gained strength and now it's sealing it's fate as will Iran and Syria and millions will be dead on both sides in a few short years sad to say.

Oh what a question! Thinking about it I would say the Vatican, as it has more assets by far than does Israel. These assets accumulated over the years by draining money from poor unsuspecting souls from around the world.

It would depend on which country is the aggressor. The United States would side with whichever sovereign country has been attacked by aggressors.

Much like the current situation in Lebanon. The U.S. has sided with both Lebanon and Israel, both of whom have been attacked by Hezbollah.
