Egyptian Pounds. We were advised to take currency with us as this works out cheaper than having to change travellers cheques. Although this is risky (because if you lose your money then its very difficult to get it back unlike travellers cheques) so make sure you take out a safe at your hotel and lock your dosh away. There's plenty of ATM's so you can get instant access to too. Obviously all major credit cards are accepted but you'll def need currency for taxis etc

Sharm is great, perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. Naama Bay is the main place for action at night with some nice bars and restaurants. Camel Bar is def worth a visit and the Italian restaurant below the Camel Bar is a winner. The Little Budha Bar also looks great but we didn't eat there so can't comment on food but its a very nice, clean and trendy looking bar.

If i were you I would avoid eating in the bars/restaurants situated down the first leg of Naama Bay strip. They're great for chilling having a drink and smoking the hubbly bubbly pipe but food isn't great and would hate to see the kitchens. But as you head down this road at the bottom turn left and you'll notice the difference in restaurant standards.

For a day trip try the Quad biking in the dessert. Good fun! Its convoy style so you can't go off and do as you please but it's still a good afternoon out.

Have a great time!

Egypt seems to like 'any' currency.

I have used the Cypriot pound there before and other travellers seem to use both the Euro and Sterling.

Maybe the travel agent could give the most recent advice or look up your hotel and the resort on trip advisor

Hope this helps.

Seeing as it's in Egypt, Egyptian Pounds is the currency you'll be needing. They're about 5 to every English pound.

Do say hello to my good friend "Richard barker" who is on a diving holiday out there with his son and girlfriend.

Apart from that, I have no idea what the currency is. Call the post office. They can tell you.
