I think the contribution of women to society goes back further than we realize. I liked the previous answer listing the various women mentioned in history. I admit it is unfortunate women are not mentioned in a more positive light. Every time a woman is mentioned in history it usually seems to be as the cause of a war or some catastrophe. (Yes I am a man). But getting back to my original statement (see first sentence), I would say it was probably women who invented the skills of weaving, pottery making, leather tanning, and possibly even agriculture. Since in the primitive societies that made up our ancestors it was the women who were required to do the cooking as well as clothes making while the men went hunting it would make sense that a woman who is looking for a way to store the few kernals of grain she has found maybe took some mud and shaped it into a bowl and heated it on a fire. Experimenting would have shown her that clay would work better and that she would need sand and water. Remember that men in these tribes spent almost their entire time either hunting or making new tools and weapons for hunting.

Smart-*** kids!! that turn into men who rule the world!!!
That's how it is... just look at society... just look... truthfully women give birth and that's it... If you become famous (as a woman) you need to be the sexiest ***** (sell yourself on the Big Screen/Billboard)... attract the most famous man (the man with the most money)... Then sell your babies 1st picture for $4 million dollars.... That's the American Way Baby!!!
