If it is manageable, sleep it off. But, never ever attempt to take recourse to booze or drug. It is a serious problem, you must consider, taking time for a vacation. Try to be away from the place and the people, who were part of the scenario that caused the paid and anguish.

What do I do? Just feel bad for awhile, and then cover up the feeling bad with other stuff. Sometimes getting out more, or helping other people with volunteer work.
It never entirely disappears, but can be hidden, or put in a separate part of where-ever feeling are kept.
Sometimes it's a matter of pretending not to feel it. I once pretended I wasn't sad, by smiling at people I met at the store, and they smiled back so nicely (mostly) that I felt a little bit better.
It often helps to write a story about it, what happened to cause it, what led up to it, how awful it feels. Some people paint pictures and put all their feelings into them.

The serenity prayer - you know - God (or whatever) grant me the strength to change the things I can, accept the things I can't change and the wisdom to know the difference. What are you worrying about? Is it something that you can change? If you can change it start planning how to go about it. If you can't change it, give it to god. That's just the way things are. If you are worrying about other people - don't. Pray for them instead. If you are overwhelmed by the state of the world, quit watching the news or send prayers, "happy thoughts", positive intentions to those involved. Eat well. Exercise lots. Cry, but only for so long, then do something else. When nothing else works, I clean. There's always something to clean and it makes one little corner of the world a better place.

Find the source or cause and make it go away. I've never had any luck with ignoring problems or taking meds to make them go away. I just deal with stuff head-on and eliminate the source of the stress.

reframing, chunking, looking at meanings and if I am feeling bad, realising I DO have a choice over how I FEEL. Decide to feel better, look again at what you are feeling and decide how YOU want to feel, ask yourself what would you have to do to feel that? what would you have to believe to feel that? how can you go from where you are now, to where you would like to be? take action to achieve it.
When you feel bad, what was the thing that made you feel that? If you change what that thing means to you, you can make a huge difference.
I can help you with this, email me if you want my help.
