Lost has taken the cliffhanger genre and really developed the concept. They only feed you little bits of information at a time and having lots of subplots and more main characters than any other series keeps it from getting dull. There's also the spicy supernatural events which seem really far fetched, but what if at some point they come up with a rational explanation for everything.

Don't try to understand everything, mystery is a big element in lost. Just enjoy the interactions between the characters and if you like, you can imagine what those rational explanations might be.

This is the only show I have ever seen where I don't understand ANYTHING but I still can't wait to see the next episode and I am totally into it. Normally, if I don';t understand a show I will turn it off and switch to something else. But, this is a cool show that leaves me guessing so much but also makes me really "love' the characters allot. Anyhow, don't believe anyone who says they understand it...there is nothing to understand at the moment...just watch and enjoy like the rest of us.

No, you aren't thick! I think we are meant to formulate our own theories . I have a couple but they could be totally wrong. My best advice is to let it wash over you and come up with your own idea no matter how outlandish it seems to you! Best of all, Lost is adictive tv so enjoy it!

I am having no problem following. Have you watched all the seasons in order? Watching them on TV is confusing, they jump around through episodes too much. Rent the first season and then rent the second (comes out 9-5-06). Watch them in order without commercials and you will get it.

i guess its meant to slowly unfold as you watch it, thats why its so gripping. i heard that they want to end it after a few seasons but end it with a movie. i think the writers know exactly how it will end but the actors have no idea yet.
they dont want to drag it out so people get fed up with it like Twin Peaks

I don't think we're supposed to understand... To be honest, I don't even think that THEY (i.e. the writers) know how it's all going to be explained in the end. Just go with the flow and enjoy the view(Sawyer....yummy!)

no one i know understands what's going on. that's why they call it lost. it's not the characters lost on an island, it's the viewers.
