NO no and no...did I mention no. I truly think that Singapore is NOT ready and should not participate in the American Idol inspired television series. The quality of singing is and was last year very poor (even worse this year I think). Not only are some of the contestants so bad at singing (their voices and quality seem like children) most of their personalities are quite uninspiring. I think Singaporeans can make excellent math and science or engineering Idols but at the moment their singing is way behind many countries including Malaysia. But, i don't think that they are on TV because they are rich, but certainly they might get votes (from such a few total number of people actually...Singapore is too small to get enough votes to really mean a whole lot) to stay on weeks into the competition. Anyhow, I do hope that at least the country will select the contestant with the most talent, even if all the guys are ''sub-standard".

You seem to very mixed up. Though it is a singing contest, judging is not based solely on that. The contestants have to appeal to the crowd, mostly screaming teenagers. If they have more friends, so much the better, but not necessarily rich. There again having friends is one thing, and getting them to vote is another thing.

Why do you want to ask that? What about the Malaysian Idols or Australian Idols?

I do think they sing well though.

Even if I'm rich, I'll not note for my friends who can't sing!!

I'm like contributing nuisance to the society.
