Because the female breast has a dual function--sex and feeding.

I think people have a problem if they can't handle seeing a woman doing what's only natural, so long as they don't whip it out in full view. Of course, even when women are discreet someone will have an issue with it.

I have no problem with it at all.

You have to learn how to deal with these situations by copying the Americans. Just pretend you havent noticed anything and walk off.

In India what will happen is that a crowd will gather around to watch some losers will start blabbering their mouths generally making life miserable for the mothers...

It is like a prayer to me when i see a woman feeding the innocent baby.Mother's love is the purest and her offspring gets the God's offering through her love filled being .Man is devoid of this extreme pleasure. A feeding mother represents God for the innocent baby.God's kingdom is with the innocent. It is unfortunate that the so called civilized religious cu;tures of the world denied this status to women and exploited them. It is lust which which makes people feel offended. If it was divine love they would never feel offended but praise God for creating the gift of mother's feeding breasts.

Such a situation is perfectly normal in Asia countries. If the mothers are caucasians, the message that comes to our mind is that they are very open. If they are Asian monthers, people will read them as undesirable behaviour. Asians are more conservative. Exposing part of the breast in the public is indecent. That's Asian. Accept the fact that different countries have different cultures.

If it is so discreet & unobtrusive then why am I offended? Public is not the place for that!

Good lord people, there are still some things that just need to be kept private. We all understand it is natural and necessary. Peeing is natural and necessary and we keep that private. Not everything is something that the rest of us want to see. If you take the time to have the kid, take the time to raise it with some sense of discretion and civility.

Many times there is NOT a private place to do this. Jade: I don't know where you live where they have these rooms but I don't have them. As for those who compared this act to using the bathroom, You are truly disturbed. When a baby cries the mom starts to lactate. And you have to drop what you are doing and nurse. End of story.

It's the discreet part that offends me. If you're a woman and you feel the need to pull out a tittie in public, I wanna see it. I don't care if there's a baby latched on there or not. I encourage all women to pop out their boobs at any opportunity

They are offended too easily and forget about the fact that it is natural and really good for the baby. Prolly their mom didn't give them the tit and it's a fact that breastfed babies are smarter than non breastfed!

Because its not nice to see that. Its just not right. I cant explain it, but I dont like it. Thats why there are special baby rooms in malls, toilets, etc. I wouldnt do it if I was a mom.
