I would and i've done! I've done it twice to save my dogs and another 3 times to save a kitten (That wasn't mine - I didn't know who owned her) and on two other occasions, once a dog, a stray i didn't know either and last time a neighbour's pet rabbit! I didn't enjoy any of these 'swims' never want to have to do it again if i also know that i would do it because ... No matter the stench, i love animals and wouldn't be able to live with myself if i let such ghastly matter put me off enough to watch an animal die.

I would look for other solutions first. A dog can grab a rope with it's teeth and hold on while being lifted.

Taking a chance to to drowned in a septic tank ... it is a very crappy death.

Given the choice would you rather be shot in the head or drown in sh!t? I would have to give the dog a dignified death, grab the rifle and take him out - at least it's a quick death.
A similar question is "Would you swerve into the path of an oncoming truck to avoid hitting a cat?"
(I might post that one).

I don't have a septic tank or a dog but I'm sure I would. How much worse than changing a baby's dripping nappy can it be?

i'll never do it.there may an other alternate way 4 that teen age fellow 2 save his puppy.that boy is loving his puppy very much so that he had done like that but i'll never do like that.i'll go 2 the alternate source only.but i won't say that what he did is wrong.

of course a life is a life you can live in the shower for days after though. First though i would make sure i could get out as i wouldn't want to die in s***t and p***s.
