Eleanor Roosevelt, although she never really stood up to her cheating husband (as far as I know, maybe she did in private...), though she's a good role model for everything else she achieved. Perhaps, Eve Ensler instead. Madeleine Albright is another good role model. And I'll second Helen Keller, because not only did she overcome some serious physical disabilities, she was very outspoken about her progressive political views.
I suppose not many of those would work for the younger crowd... If we're talking celebrities, then maybe Reese Witherspoon because she has her stuff together. Or maybe Bebe (a singer from Spain) because her songs are great, she has her own style, and isn't afraid to write songs about subjects that some would consider taboo.

That would be different for everyone. For me, strangely enough, it is my 6 year old daughter. Everyone needs someone different, someone stronger, more organized, or maybe just nicer to look up to. Think of things you want in the future and find someone with those qualities to help guide you.
