They are both deceased now, but they were twin sisters and I never heard of any feud between them.

Esther Pauline Friedman and Pauline Esther Friedman were identical twin sisters. They attended Morningside College together from 1936 to 1939 and wrote a gossip column for the college newspaper. In July of 1939, EP (Eppie) and PE (Popo) married their husbands in a double wedding. In 1955, EP (Eppie) won a competition to take over an established advice column called "Ann Landers". A few months later, Pauline (PE) launched a competing column, "Dear Abby" using the nom de plume "Abigail Van Buren". Eppie took "Ann Landers" to new heights, became an international celebrity, and wrote her column personally for almost 50 years. "Ann Landers" does not exist without her, although "Annie's Mailbox" is managed by her daughter. "Dear Abby" had several writers fill in, and has become a brand that survived the original writer. The daughters of the twins still run competing advise columns.

Abby's last name was Van Buren. No feud though. They are both dead. Dear Abby is now written by Jeanne Phillips her daughter. Ann Landers column is no long written new, just reruns of old columns.

Abby stabbed Ann in the eye with a pencil because she called her poodle "common!" Then two days later Ann electrocuted Abby with a car battery and pulled her hair plus, she used the F word!

One is a woman and the other is a transexual, so Abby wrote about Ann's secret in her column and that's when all hell broke loose.

There was a lifelong feud after they both became advice columnists.

Since one is dead and the other has alzheimer's, I don't think they are feuding anymore.
